Acqua Sant’Anna

Founded in 1996 by the Bertone family and headquartered in Vinadio (Cuneo), in the Piedmont region of Italy, Acqua Sant’Anna S.p.A. is one of Italy’s most recognized and best-selling natural mineral water brands.

The company was born from a single, profound vision: to protect and bring to the world a remarkably pure mountain water sourced from the pristine granite springs of the Maritime Alps, at an altitude of approximately 1,950 metres above sea level — where the air is uncontaminated and the natural granite rock formations act as a natural filtration system.

The quality of these springs has been documented as far back as the 1500s, with pilgrims journeying to the high-altitude Sanctuary of Sant’Anna, the highest Christian place of worship in Europe, to drink from its waters.

Today, Acqua Sant’Anna operates one of the most technologically advanced bottling facilities in Europe, producing over 710,000 bottles per hour across 10 formats and more than 350 product references, with over 1.5 billion products sold annually. The company’s commercial and marketing operations are managed from Orbassano (Turin).

Sant’Anna’s product portfolio extends well beyond mineral water, encompassing SanThè (a range of iced teas), Fruity Touch (flavoured waters), Beauty (functional waters enhanced with collagen or hyaluronic acid), and Sant’Anna PRO (a professional hydration line). The company has also pioneered sustainability through its Bio Bottle, a compostable bottle made from plant-based PLA material, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility.

Sant’Anna holds multiple internationally recognized certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BRC, and IFS, reflecting its high standards across quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety.

Canadian Market Expansion

With support from ICCO Canada and funding provided by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), Acqua Sant’Anna is collaborating with the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario (ICCO Canada) to explore and strengthen its presence in the Canadian market. Through targeted B2B meetings, market analysis, and business development activities, the company is engaging with Canadian distributors and retail partners to expand distribution opportunities for its premium natural mineral water products. This initiative supports international market access, increases brand visibility in North America, and fosters long-term export growth between Italy and Canada.

As part of its Canadian market development activities, in November 2025 Acqua Sant’Anna participated in the ICCO Unico Primo Pentola d’Oro awards, leveraging the event as a networking opportunity to connect with key players in the Italian-Canadian business community. The company is also considering participation in this year’s edition to continue building meaningful local relationships.
