O.M.R. – United Mechanical Workshop

The O.M.R. company, known as “United Mechanical Workshop,” was founded in the 1970s and operates as a strategic holding of specialized workshops situated in the Canavese Valley near Turin, Italy. This region is internationally recognized for its deep-rooted heritage in iron working and traditional manufacturing, supported by a dense productive infrastructure of dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises. The autonomous character of this network allows O.M.R. to execute highly incisive marketing strategies and maintain the unique flexibility required to operate on individual units during the manufacturing phase.

To support this technical-productive excellence, O.M.R. utilizes an extensive range of advanced machinery, including EDM and CNC milling machines for die construction, alongside a robust fleet of presses, hammers, rocker arms, and electro-headers. These facilities enable the casting and forging of parts ranging from 0.5 kg to 200 kg, which can be delivered as complete units with customized heat and surface treatments according to client specifications.

The precision of O.M.R.’s output is further guaranteed by workshops dedicated to mechanical work, equipped with CNC lathes, vertical and horizontal work centers, and specialized centers for laser cutting, pressing, gearing, and broaching. This diverse technical suite allows O.M.R. to serve a wide array of industrial sectors, producing components for lifts and cableways, agricultural and earth-moving machinery, industrial vehicles, and both fixed and rolling stock for the railway industry.

Furthermore, the company provides a variety of high-precision gears and cogs. Most of these items are integrated by global customers into first-assembly lines or utilized within the high-demand spare parts market, with O.M.R. offering the added value of supplying complete, pre-assembled subgroups upon request. Every stage of this complex processing cycle is governed by a rigorous quality system, certified under UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008, ensuring that every product meets the highest international standards of reliability and performance.

In a strategic effort to bridge Italian technical expertise with North American industrial needs, O.M.R. SRL has launched an expansion initiative into the Canadian market. This project is made possible through a partnership with ICCO Canada and the support of the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). The program is designed to introduce O.M.R.’s Italian craftsmanship to the local industry in Southern Ontario through:

  • Business Development Activities: Focused on establishing long-term commercial growth within the Canadian industrial landscape.
  • Targeted Networking: Organizing in-person, strategic meetings with pre-qualified business leads to foster direct collaboration.
  • Industry Integration: Engaging with local and national partners to accelerate the distribution of high- quality mechanical components across the region.
